Development of the Year 2014:
The 1,175-room Marriott Marquis Washington, DC was developed by Quadrangle Development and Capstone Development, and is managed by Marriott International.
Single Asset Transaction of the Year:
Thayer Lodging Group acquired the 998-room Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida from the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Pension Fund for $535 million in an off-market transaction.
Merger & Acquisition of the Year:
Lone Star Funds acquired 38 hotels from Hyatt Hotels Corporation for an estimated $590MM.
Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year:
Roy March, CEO, Eastdil Secured.
Bob Hazard, Former Chairman, CEO, and President (1980-1996) of Choice Hotels International and Former CEO, (1974-1980), Best Western International was honored with the prestigious ALIS Lifetime Achievement Award.
